Richard has served on numerous private boards of directors.  He currently serves as executive chairman of Ensovi, LLC, and is an advisory board member of ZPower, LLC. Richard holds a BBA degree in finance from Baylor University and an MBA degree from the University of Texas at Austin where he received the Sord Scholar and dean’s awards. He is also an alumnus of the Dallas chapter of the Young Presidents Organization.

Richard is a technology startup executive with extensive experience in finance, business development and technology. Previously, Richard was the CIO of Five States Energy Company, where he also held the positions of CFO and director of business development. During that time, he cofounded Ensovi, LLC, a research-and-development-stage biotechnology company that developed an enzymatic platform for producing organic chemicals through artificial photosynthesis.

Prior to joining Five States, Richard founded Taconic Partners, a Texas-based venture capital and consulting firm focused on startup and early-stage companies. During this time, Richard also served as interim CEO for SeekerNet, VSI Enterprises, and OHA Financial. Before that, he was a senior consultant with Towers Perrin, where he specialized in strategic planning and organizational development for multinational energy companies. Richard began his career as a sales engineer for Reliance Electric Company.
